Arizona Bankruptcy Exemptions Information
When serving as a bankruptcy trustee, one of your most important duties is evaluating the debtor's assets to determine which of them can be liquidated. The bankruptcy laws vary a bit from state to state, so we've provided this quick reference guide for your use. It lists some of the Arizona bankruptcy exemptions that are claimed most frequently in the state's bankruptcy cases.
Homestead
Up to $150,000 in the equity of your home (which includes a mobile home)
can be protected.
Wages
75 percent of your weekly, disposable earnings are exempt.
Automobiles
One motor vehicle up to $5,000 in value, $10,000 if the debtor is
physically disabled.
Other Property
Up to $4,000 in the value of household furniture, furnishings and
appliances. Up to $500 for clothing.
